Progress! There’s more, but I don’t feel like screencapping them. I need to finish 29 of these by 3AM or 4AM Monday morning.
I CAN DO IT.
Will definitely be saving these designs for my wardrobe. ;w; Original designs do not steal1111!!!12121111!!!!!!1111
ಠ_ಠ This finals project is going to make me burn my eyes out.
I am going to take a nap because my eyeballs can’t stand the computer screen anymore.
It’s only 29 technical flats!
Sample work from my Pattern Drafting Procedures class! This is my own design following a specific criteria given by my instructor.
Normally the end design comes out rather dull because it’s a demonstration of technical skill, but I rather liked this one. Total time between drafting the pattern and the final sample was about 15 to 18 hours, but probably a bit less because this was finished with an all nighter. The pattern (and FIDM dress form) is rather space consuming so it took nearly five or six yards of muslin. Muslin also hates being ironed, why? D:
When I have time (AHAHAHAHA) I’ll redo it for my own wardrobe. I say this alot but… I swear. I will. Eventually. Before I die.
Can you imagine it in a navy wool twill with a white collar? With a little mustard or red bow tie?
P.S: I feel better everyone. ;A; I’m heading to San Diego for the weekend for a little break and even if I haven’t had the time to respond back (midterms week) I completely appreciate and adore everyone who spent to the telling me it’s okay. I am a rather emotional being and things like that upset me easily. I love you all. ;___;
I’ll be posting most of my lolita-related wardrobe and a room tour in a day or two on egl/LJ and I’ll be dividing the photos up here. I’ll queue about 6 posts for that, so I hope those who don’t follow EGL enjoy it. I’m honestly really loving my modest wardrobe right now and it can only continue to grow from here. It’s changed so much since I bought my first dress and started this Tumblr…
After that maybe I’ll post a little tutorial on sweater/cardigan clips and a Metamorphose review. And I’ll sprinkle in some FIDM updates too. I’m back in classes and I’m living the life (and when I mean the life it means I’m probably not sleeping more that 5 hours a school day).
I adore wardrobe month on EGL. I don’t follow the main Livejournal except for this theme, but ever since this became the thing I can’t help checking for new posts everyday. It doesn’t matter how big or small someone’s closet is, it’s how much you love it.
Just kidding people have entire lines of Mary Magdalene dresses I hate you so much. ;A;
IT’S SCARF SWEATSHOP TUESDAYS.
Some are requests from Facebook, some I picked for friends, some I’m saving for sale.
I tried to pick trendy, fashionable colors. But really, I just picked what I liked. Woo!

I made some circle scarves because it was really, really cold in the FIDM annex.
If I had an Etsy store, I would be glad to have offer similar scarves. It’s up to luck on what materials I can find, but I should really try testing that… It feels like I’m always a collage student in the red. |D Oh, Los Angeles.
Cotton velvet came in the mail for accessories like the fawn fur collars and hair bows and such. I’m really pleased with the quality, because panne and stretch velvet is the bane of my existence. The red velvet is perfect but the pink is a tad too orange… it needs a dye bath when I head home.
Actually, this is why I’m always in the red. I disgust myself. Sort of.
Sometimes, it snows on Los Angeles.
But really, they were filming for a TV show called Castle at the FIDM park. I am not familiar with it. But I saddened I could not roll around in the fake snow. :(
EDIT: I DIDN’T REALIZE NATHAN FILLION WAS THERE GODDAMNIT CAPTAIN HAMMER COME BACK
