Slightly differing outfit from Monday’s trek to school.

I got the dress from Dear Creature’s sample sale in Pasadena. I got to meet the designers and discuss an internship with them. ;_;

I spewed spaghetti like no one’s business.

100% cotton polkadot skirt, with a two-channel elastic waistband. 100% polyester interlock knit lining. All seams are finished. Horsehair braid in the hem for added shape.

I love churning out this skirt, and it’s pretty much my favorite use for awkward quilting fabrics. The horsehair braid makes a huge difference in shape! But I’m gonna need a lot more elastic. Those tiny packs you buy in retail stores are pathetic.

Knit dress take two! A successful drape in one knit does not translate very well into another knit. Sloppy overall (it’s a school project, I like doing these the night before, don’t expect too much) but the idea is there.

Next time that I need to work on a knit, I’ll buy at least 6 yards of the same material. I don’t mind knits, I really don’t. But the next draping project will be absolutely exciting!

6 gore, a-line skirt with belt loops, lined with black interlock knit, made with 100% cotton twill. All seams are overlocked.

For Bloomuffin, who purchased the fabric and let me practice my patterning skills. This particular pattern still needs a bit of tweaking because it was drafted almost 5 months ago? ‘OTL

I even embroidered a little “oTaM” tag so I’d remember which side was the back.

So… these pants. They retailed for $200 by 7 For All Mankind. After a battle of wills (not my will, long story short is that you can aggressively bargain at boutiques), I got them for $40 because they were pretty much dead winter stock.

They’re velvet. With gold damask printing. Ke$ha wore the same pair at another point.

These are just… so out of my style and will always be a standalone piece. But gold is not a terrible compliment to my wardrobe and a few black shirts won’t kill me. I’ll find a way. I’m not a pants girl but a change is good for me right now, and I still definitely need it. I’ll still be the frill-addict that I am.

I’m really just terrible with the color black. But these are just fab as fuck.

Some jersey-intended cutsews I did for my final project last quarter! The turtleneck was eventually traded for puff sleeves because I forgot it was a spring/summer collection.

Uniqlo has some amazing hoodies for spring/summer! I picked out the first reddish floral one myself, because I don’t have a hoodie that isn’t bright yellow or 4 years old. I really love the striped ones too!

Florals and spring just go hand in hand. <3
